Deep Thought
Remember when the Wingnutty Pundits wanted to burn Jamie Spears at the stake for getting knocked up? Funny, now….isn’t it?

No “Wingnutty Pundits” wanted to burn her at the stake. They were disgusted that she was portrayed as something other than the dumb knocked-up kid she was, such as a role model for little girls, and that she and her family are attention whores who saw her pregnancy as a pay day and a chance for a brighter spotlight. At worst, they called out Nickelodeon for not firing her from Zoey 101.
See here, here and here. Are National Review, Brent Bozell and Rush Limbaugh representative enough of the of the wingnuts?
Also, it is curious to me how no one was even allowed to look at 28 year-old Chelsea Clinton during primary season, or Michelle Obama now, because they’re family and should remain sacrosanct, but a 17 year-old kid who never stepped on the public stage is fair game. But there’s no hypocrisy on the left so I’m sure it’s just coincidence.

sorry, cheese, you got stuck in moderation for multiple links.
What we should be talking about is why These teenagers decided to take such a step into adulthood, have sexual relations and not completely understand how to protect themselves from unwanted pregnancies.
Most on the right side believe that if they instill values like , Abstinence is the only effective method of Birth Control their kids will take heed and save themselves for marriage.
I, on the other hand believe this: Abstinence is the only effective method of Birth Control, but, if you are going to have sex, please understand the following methods of protection….
And Rush said:
RUSH: I would certainly hope so, but it’s long past time for this to happen. The parents here are the culprits!
Now..would Rush address Mrs. Palin as a failure as well? Me thinks NOT.

Any other teen in the world gets pregnant, and it’s a disgrace, a moral issue, and the parents’ fault. THIS particular teen gets pregnant, and we skip right over all the negatives, the immorality of premarital sex, the where-were-the-parents, and laud her for “choosing” life? I’d say abstinence-only education has a 100% failure rate in the Palin household.
So…why is it one teenager from a good home, good parents, solid Christian background, etc. - ALL the advantages, yes? - had premarital sex and got pregnant and it’s a mistake attributed to youthful indiscretion? Why is it not lax parenting, or lack of morality? It reminds me of people who want to crucify anyone who has ever ingested any drug besides alcohol, no matter how long ago or what particular substance - and then talk with fondness about their college days when they tried a little of this or that, because, you know, “youthful indiscretion” and all, heh heh, wink wink.
Now this…”They were disgusted that she was portrayed as something other than the dumb knocked-up kid she was”…I don’t recall seeing a single story where Jamie Lynn was portrayed as anything other than a dumb knocked-up kid. A link, please?
