Cokie Roberts, a well known DC insider, didn’t like the choice of Sen. Obama to vacation in Hawaii. She saw it as too exotic and that he needed to vacation somewhere like, say, Myrtle Beach. Doesn’t matter that he had FAMILY IN HIS BIRTH STATE OF HAWAII, it like, some sort of exotic choice that “real ‘murkins” can’t really attain!

This is coming from a woman who has led an extremely prividleged life. Her father, a prominent Senator, her mother, ambassador to the Vatican. Her Brother, founding partner of one of the most influential DC lobbying firms. Her Family comes from New Orleans and they purport to love NOLA very much. However, I know that the NOLA they love is a NOLA with no poor people.I didn’t see her or any of her family members racing to save the ‘murkin city at all. In fact, they only stood to gain monetarily fro EXPLOITING IT. How do I know? I was once an employee of said influential lobbying firm. I watched it all happen. I also seriously doubt that if Cokie took the time to visit her mother (a resident of the French Quarter, I think…Unless she didn;t return after Katrina) no one would say a word…..

Now, you tell me who qualifies as an elitist.

I have no idea why Russia invaded Georgia, but it does seem a bit odd that the US condems Russia for invading someone…….

While I am mainly focused on politics, I do like to talk  about Blogs I Don’t Like for Reasons I’ve outlined already. Lets get one thing straight. I can do or say just about anything here. I can spout off hate about anything or anyone, edit comments or delete them. I can moderate my comments, I can delete my post.  It’s what a blog is all about; my personal corner of the internet that was bought & paid for. I can say what I want when I want. If you think about it, it’s pretty big responsibilty. What will I do with it? I could use it to troll other blogs, write opinions about current events,  whine about circumstances in my life or use my family as a catalyst to mega attention.

I choose to mainly write about current events, so most of my stuff inflates attitudes in staunch republican/free market worshiping/ultra religious conservatives. However, I do tend to comment on blogs that  I believe to be crap. Mind you, this is my opinion–so You might not like it.  To that end, I say, surf away. For the record, If I met some of these idiots in real life, I’d tell them the same shit to their faces.

The topic was hot hot hot in January of 2007 when the webmasters of the elusive snark website, Trainwrecks decided to take it down. It was because of a stupid troll blog that obviously existed ONLY to shut down the website. After it had it’s 15 minutes of cyber popularity, it eventually trainwrecked a few more blogs (funny how they could do it and no one else could) and just sort of stopped posting as much.

No doubt it was because “HN” was more than likely consumed with it’s real blogs/projects. I will forever maintain that HN was a troll blog set up by a few of Trainwrecks most popular internet crazies. You decide who they may be….

So here we are, over a year later and we have another blogger who posted what she thought about certain blogs. Of course, in what seems to be a signature retailition of these idiots, the subjects of her critisizm decided to post her personal information. Basically, they made certain she was not welcome at the Women Bloggers convention known as “BlogHer“.

A word about BlogHer: I believe that it was started with very good intentions. However, I believe it has become saturated with press about only one thing: Mommy bloggers.  and BLECH. Women Political Bloggers, Feminist bloggers, etc are much more interesting. Digby, Pandagon, feministing, shakesville—-Geeze—They are MUCH better and MUCH More noteworthy then the legions of turd licking mommy bloggers who blog about their problems in a desperate attempt to gain attention.

Anyhow, it’s not a crime to rip apart a blog post or even an entire blog for that matter. If these bloggers choose to aire their dirty laundry for all to comment on then they must realize that they carry the risk that someone out there won’t like what they are talking about. And yes, someone might actually write extensively about it. Name calling–well, probably. if you blog, you have a responsibilty. the persona you create  in cyberspace can be positive or negative–it’s all about how you choose to portray yourself.  It doesn’t matter how responsible with your internet persona you are–no matter what–someone out there will always dislike what you have to say. It’s just part of life.  So…everyone should be fully aware that unless your blog is a private, invitation only party, you are placing your shit on the ‘net for all to see. You’re also begging for people like myself to comment on it.

Why is it so terrible to upgrade our crumbling infrastructure with a new kind of WPA style project? It would put people to work, increase spending and add to consumers pockets…

Senator Sam Brownback seems to be a bit confused on the definition of Spying. It’s been common knowledge that the Chinese Government was going to monitor all the communications of the people attending the Olympics. Now, Major foreign Hotels have received on order from China’s   Public security dept stating they must comply with installing software that spies on it’s guests.   Sen. Brownback is just outraged by this practice! It’s WRONG! he says! Spying on people and violating their privacy is just so WRONG!

Quoth the Senator:

“These hotels are justifiably outraged by this order, which puts them in the awkward position of having to craft pop-up messages explaining to their customers that their Web history, communications, searches and key strokes are being spied on by the Chinese government,” Brownback said at a news conference.

Man, That spying thing, it’s pretty shitty, right?

Senator Brownback’s PR staff isn’t very bright because they would have really briefed him on the definition of spying before he said such a thing. I believe he voted for “Protect America ACT of 2007” which allows telcom companies to gather info without and warrant, probable cause, etc etc. He also voted for the recent FISA ACT that allowed telecom companies immunity from anyone wanting to sure them for breaking the law. You know, that law that says no one can spy on you without probable cause? Errr..isn’t that the same thing the Chinese government is doing? Except, well…people are actually told by disclaimer, I think….

So, since Sen. Brownback believes that China’s spying is wrong and our government’s spying is okey doke…Um…um….are we in some kind of alternate universe? I can’t make heads or tails on this logic!

I don’t think I’ll ever understand Americans. Everybody is s a victim and nothing is ever their fault. Apparently all these people where forced at gunpoint to buy these home with stupid loan conditions.

Of Course, he didn’t actually read the post where I stated quite clearly that I do not believe in the use of credit cards, Fancy Loans or HELOCS to present an illusion of wealth. I also pointed out that it was repeated to me that I *NEEDED* to establish credit by use of credit cards, loans and other forms of borrowing because it would *INCREASE* my FICO score.

So, how does one explain the higher rated “Prime” borrowers who are now defaulting on their mortgages and credit cards? Surely no one pointed a gun to their head and forced them to buy stuff they could not afford. I’m certain that even in the face disaster, they will simply admit to being  dolts and living above their means, right? I mean, they won’t blame their own shitty ways on other people, right?

F.E.A.R. was used to strengthen Bush’s position on the “war on terror”. After he was reelected, We haven’t had a “heightened awareness” since.

It was September of 2004. I remember because as policy, our building in DC was locked during periods of heightened awareness. Isn’t it striking that suddenly,in August of 2008,  it’s announced that we are on heightened alert ? It’s also relevant that top McCain aids have said that a terror attack would benefit McCain’s bid for the White House.

Of course, it’s worth mentioning that terrorism isn’t just a tactic used by brown people from sandy regions in and around the middle east who happen to belong to the islamic religion. Terrorism, by definition, is a tactic that is used to terrorize (use fear and intimidation) on a particular sect or group to get a message across through violence. We’ve had plenty of American  white people who use this same tactic.

So, remember,  what John McCain wants you to keep in the back of your head: BOOGA BOOGA OSAMA BIN LADEN*
